Keep the original account backup

Request a ZIP through X’s official archive download. Save a copy you control. Inspect its included files and viewer to understand what the snapshot contains.

Uploading this ZIP to Tweet Archivist creates aggregate insights. It does not turn the ZIP into a hosted searchable post archive.

Collect public posts on a paid plan

1. Create a collection from a public profile, a single post URL or a list of known post URLs.
2. Wait for the collection job and inspect its outcome and date coverage.
3. Search stored post text and apply date or tweet-type filters.
4. Review available analytics and export a useful subset.

Profile collection retrieves available recent posts within provider and plan limits. It cannot promise every post in the account’s history.

Search, export and share the records you collected

Collected archives can be exported as CSV, XLSX or JSON with paid data access. The filters determine which records are included, with a maximum of 50,000 rows per export. These are post-data exports; do not assume that a spreadsheet bundles all media files.

You can enable a public archive link. Review the records before making that change: a public link is for material you intend to share.

Plan for updates and gaps

Profile archives can use weekly auto-updates. This is periodic collection, not a real-time feed. A post removed between runs may never be collected. Deleted or protected posts already unavailable at collection time cannot be recovered by a promise of deeper history.

A previously stored record can remain useful after the source changes, but it does not establish completeness, authenticity or a legal chain of custody.

Check the plan and retention requirements

Basic allows 20 archives and 10,000 stored tweets. Pro has no archive-count limit and allows 100,000 stored tweets. See pricing for current billing options.
