Twitter is now called X. Use the official store listing for your device, check that the publisher is X Corp., and review compatibility before installing.
Open the official listing
Check the publisher, supported device, current operating-system requirement and regional availability in the listing. Requirements can change. Do not rely on a copied icon or a sponsored search result to identify the app.
What the download gives you
The app uses X branding, although older account names and some technical identifiers still say Twitter. The store listings offer installation with in-app purchases; optional subscriptions and other purchases are separate decisions. You can also use x.com, with sign-in and feature availability determined by the site and account.
After installation
Sign in or follow the sign-up prompts. Confirm the account handle, recovery details and privacy settings. Install updates through the same official store. A new version can change navigation; check the app’s own controls before following an old screenshot.
If installation or login fails
Check connection, device storage, operating-system compatibility and store-account restrictions. Restart the store or device before a larger reset. Before reinstalling, copy local drafts and check your password, two-factor recovery method and Chat PIN access. Avoid unofficial APK or modified-app downloads that promise unavailable features or account access.
